Facebook live allows you to share your real life in real time with your Facebook followers when it comes to broadcasting an event or a random rant to your social media friends. Facebook live is a very interactive way to share what you’re doing while you are doing it. It is a very interesting thing as you can see your friends live. The feature was first announced in 2015 for the celebrities only. Since then, Facebook has made available to any user with an active profile. You can also go live in a group. Live videos shared by your friends and public figures you follow will show up right in your news feed.
Follow these steps to go live on Facebook
Step 1: Go to your news feed, tap the “live” option on the left corner denoted by the icon. You can also go live by your own Facebook profile. Open the status bar by taping the text that reads, “what’s on your mind” and then, select the “live video” option from the menu.
Step 2 : Give Facebook access to your camera and microphone when prompted. You’ll stop receiving these prompts after the first time you use it.
Step 3: If you’re posting for a brand, you’ll probably want to make it public . If you are posting yourself, you might want to reserve for your friends. So choose your privacy accordingly.
Step 4: Give a description to your broadcast, which will show up on people’s News Feed like status update above the video. To get the attention of your friends write an attention – grabbing headline and help them to understand what your broadcast is about.
Step 5: Choose your location, tag friends or add an activity.
Tag a location from where your location from where you are shooting, or share what you’re doing in the broadcast. Tap the icons at the bottom of your screen to tag people who are in your Facebook live video.
Step 6: Set up your camera view.
Be sure that your camera’s pointing on the direction you want it to before you click “Go live”. The video will square so it doesn’t matter whether you hold your mobile vertically or horizontally.
Step 7: Add lenses, filters or drawing to your vide:
Tap the icon in the upper right corner of your screen, and choose if you want to add lenses to your face or change the filter of the camera.
Step 8: Click the “Go live” button to start broadcasting:
Once you click it, Facebook will give you countdown “3, 2, 1…..” and then you will be available live. Your broadcast can be up to 90 minutes.
Step 9: Interact with viewers and commenters:
To keep your viewers engaged, encourage them to interact with your live video. You can do that using the comment option.
Step 10: Click “Finish” to end the broadcast:
Once you click “Finish”, the video will stay on your timeline or page like any other video post. However, sharing on real time basis will stop.
